PICKING FIDDLE HEADS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE !!

One of the best things about spring in New Hampshire besides turkey hunting and brook trout is the harvest of fiddleheads. They grow in wetland areas usually around a river or stream. You can blanch and freeze them if you get a bunch and they are a good way to put something green on your plate. I like to saute them in olive oil with just a little garlic powder, salt and pepper. They go great with fresh caught brook trout!
