LIGHTNING STORM Forces Me to Stop Surf Casting in North Carolina!

We had a great day surf casting at Kure Beach in North Carolina until a thunder and lightning storm rolled in. I could easily become a surf-casting tramp. The only equipment you need is a surf casting rod, some cut bait, a piece of PVC pipe cut at a 45 degree angle and a chair. You can also spend thirty bucks on a cast net and get your own bait. I don’t like to have my camera out all day as the salt effects everything. I missed some good shots but we made the best of it. Unfortunately the weather turned as it does so often and we bailed. The fishing was just starting to pick up. We caught some short flounder, they have to be 15 inches to keep. Also there were croakies and blue fish caught with some small drum out further in the channel.
