I had the pleasure of hanging out with Micah from NE Wilderness (n_e_wilderness on Instagram and N.E. Wilderness here on Youtube), along with Mark of Wildwood Guide Service (rucksackwanderer on Instagram) and Kyle, aka The Bear (bearvegan on Instagram). NE Wilderness also means “Any Wilderness”. This was a realization that Micah came to years ago when his camping was restricted to a certain geographical area and he compromised in his backyard with a tarp and wildlife recordings on a walkman. Since then he has developed many essential woodsman skills and loves to share and educate those who are interested in the natural world. Also I had the distinct pleasure of Meeting the Bear! The Bear is a giant of a man and one of the most interesting people I have met in years. I became instant friends with Mark, who is now officially named “Rucksack,” and look forward to hunting and fishing with him this fall. Micah demonstrates his Warbonnet Thunder fly with a bough bed, I used my Warbonnet Blackbird XLChttps://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/ (review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aen1wf1c6zk) and Mark stuck with his trusty tent. We ate very well as you can see and had a great time.
I finally got a chance to put my external wood frame pack to the test and absolutely love it. The Pack is made by Pac A Chair and made 100% right in New Hampshire. These packs are available on the WCWtradingpost on Etsy (https://workingclasswoodsman.com/trading-post/).
Micah’s pack is a Deep Woods Ruck made by The Hidden Woodsman and the haversacks are also from The Hidden Woodsman (http://thehiddenwoodsmen.com).
We use this free browser extension to help manage the Working Class Woodsman YouTube channel (including easily editing and adding custom video thumbnails right on the upload page). There’s also an affordable, optional upgrade to a pro version with more features. Check it out, it will really help you.
